Take the nip out of the air with these local Fall delights.

Vermont's fall scene is perfect for cozying up by the fire with delicious local beverages. Here are some great options:

Cocktails

Maple Bourbon Old Fashioned: Use Vermont maple syrup, local bourbon, we suggest No. 14, from Vermont Spirits  or similar, and bitters. Garnish with an orange twist.
Spiced Apple Cider Mule: Combine Vermont apple cider, vodka, try Smugglers’ Notch Distillery, or Silo Distillery in Windsor.  Add ginger beer,  splash of lime.  For extra warmth, add cinnamon sticks
Pumpkin Pie Martini: Mix a splash of vanilla, any local Vermont vodka, pumpkin puree, cream, and a touch of spice (cinnamon, nutmeg) for a festive twist.

Beer

  1. Good Water Brewery Williston Oktoberfest: Smooth, medium-bodied, clean German Lager.
  2. Simple Roots Brewing Company, in Burlington’s North End, Tmave Pivo:   A dark rich dry-finished Czech-style Pilsner.
  3. Whirligig Brewing, St. Johnsbury, Raking Leaves:  A sour beer lovers favorite!  It’s their anti-Pumpkin Pumpkin Beer!

 Cider

Vermont Cider Company: Their variety packs often include seasonal flavors like pumpkin or apple cinnamon.
Eden Specialty Ciders: Look for their unique blends, such as those made with heirloom apples, for a complex and flavorful choice.
Stowe Cider, Cider Donut: Teamed up with North Country Donuts.  You just got to taste it!

Bonus

Hot Chocolate: Consider spiking your hot chocolate with a splash of local whiskey or rum for an adult version.
